Welcome to Clave!

The Shadow World is full of whispers and rumours that Valentine Morgenstern, renegade Shadowhunter, is alive and well. Not only that but speculation is spreading that the cunning Nephilim is searching for one of the most revered treasures of the Shadowhunter world - the Mortal Cup. With it, he could create an army that would make his former Circle look like a group of missionless fanatics.

But the Clave are prepared. For years they have been summoning the second born of Shadowhunter families and training them especially as part of an Anti-Circle organization. If Valentine tries to recruit his old followers again, the Clave will be ready, and this time the Circle would be fighting against their own children....

The whole "Friends With Benefits" thing with Grayson had turned out to be more than just about great casual sex. She had really grown to like the Mundane. It was funny. Back when she was a Shadowhunter, she never thought she become friends with a "normal person". They were always just the people her former species protected. It took being a werewolf to discover just how fun they were to be around. Grayson was no peach, but his crazy kind of matched Tris' crazy, it just worked out between them as roomies as well.

Being Grayson's friend, she decided to benefit him another way. She had recently hooked him up with a near-perfect fake ID, thanks to paying off a clever, but shady warlock who made them for a little side cash. Tris didn't ask what the warlock did the rest of the time. It wasn't her job to interrogate Downworlders anymore after all. She just did business and was on her way.

Tris liked the less popular, less admirable Downworlder bars. The places were dirty and a bit shady, but often drinks were cheap. She also hardly worried about anyone messing with her. She was a wolf, and was now part of the Pack. That meant back-up. She stood outside the place and awaited Grayson, hoping he hadn't gotten into any trouble.

Cody had a habit of frequenting the... less nice bars around the city. It mostly had to do with not having a lot of money. Plus, Downworlder bars tended to be kind of shady in the first place. It was an inescapable fact of life that even the "nice" Downworlder establishments had a certain dark feel to them. It didn't matter much to Cody. He felt at home in this sort of place, which didn't speak much to his character, but the werewolf didn't with two shits about that. He was under no illusions that his character was--at the very least--of questionable morality.

Still, a big part of it was the money thing. His current job paid a lot better than some he'd had in the past, but alcohol was expensive and Cody drank way too much to afford it. It would be cheaper to drink at home instead of hitting bars all the time, but despite his anti-social nature, Cody liked surrounding himself with people. He was weird like that. He was also on the hunt for something interesting to do tonight--or rather, someone. He was no stranger to one-night-stands, and people looking for casual lays usually weren't interested in talking. That meant no one trying to dig into his past, and even if they asked they usually didn't seem to put out by him shutting down that line of conversation.

He approached the bar, his long legs allowing him to keep a decent pace while appearing to casually stroll. A girl stood outside, and though she appeared to be waiting for someone, that didn't stop him from shooting her a long look. Its meaning wasn't hard to interpret. She was pretty. Maybe she was waiting for a friend, not a date, or maybe her date wouldn't show up. Either way, letting her know he was interesting couldn't hurt.

DESOLATION TRAGEDY
petty lies to everyone in the hopes that I could be someone heaven talks but not to me and now I wonder if it's meant to be

September had arrived in the city, but the heat of summer was still in the air. The city could be described as muggy as a result—the warmth and the moisture in the air making it feel almost heavy. Grayson could feel a thin layer of sweat sticking to his skin even as he walked. With a sigh, he pushed his hair back—the longer strands of his undercut having fallen into his bloodshot eyes as he was walking. He’d gotten high a bit ago at some apartment of some guy he only sort of knew. He was feeling relaxed though as a result, and a bit hungry to boot. He hoped this downworlder dive that Tris wanted to go to served something decent. Granted, he didn’t have too much money in his wallet, but it was a dive. He might be alright.

Wearing a black tank, the colorful ink on his arms was on full display. He was wearing a pair of well worn jeans as well that weren’t skinny, but fit him in a flattering but comfortable way. His usual metal was in though at a glance the only thing that anyone could see was the silver ring in his lip. He’d gone with silver after learning vampires were susceptible to it. He’d had some run ins with their kind before and they weren’t always the best. He knew that a couple of silver piercings weren’t enough to deter a vampire, but really it was more of a spit thing that anything else at this point.

Shoving his hands into his pockets, Grayson’s long legs carried him towards the dive bar. He spotted Tris easily enough. She was waiting outside from him—looking comfortable despite the shadier atmosphere of the place. As he approached though, he noticed another young man checking her out. Despite the fact that Grayson was sleeping with Tris fairly regularly, he wasn’t bothered in the slightest by the lingering looks. Tris was free to do whatever and whoever she wanted to. Besides, he was always pretty mellow when he was high. So when he reached her, he tipped his head towards the other guy. ”Want me to get lost,” he asked with a smirk.

Tris popped out her e-cig and got it going when she noticed the guy checking her out. One good sniff told her he was a wolf. Tris had hooked up with a wolf or two since turning, and found them to be pretty decent dates. The guy looked cute too. Still, Grayson was coming along, and the two of them were just planning to have a good time. She wasn't really planning to hook up that night. Not only that, she had taken an interest in her vampire friend, Colin, as well as of late. Damn, love and attraction was some complicated shit. It could have been worse though. She could still have ugly tattoos and be out fighting demons on a regular basis.

Grayson stepped up and asked if he needed to go since a guy was checking Tris out.

"Yeah, fuck off," she said. She then grinned. "Kidding. I didn't go to all the trouble to get you the you-know-what so you could get into the you-know-where to make you leave." She then grabbed his face and gave him a playful smooch, but drew back when she picked up something.

"Silver?" she said. "Seriously, dude? You know that breaks the deal with me when we get home." She then began to head in, and gave the wolf watching her a wink.

Cody's eyes swept over the newcomer, a young man--practically a boy, actually, though that didn't matter much to Cody as long as he was 18--sporting a ring through his lip and tattoos on his arms. Most of Cody's own tats were covered by his leather jacket, all except the piece of one that peeked out on his collar bone through the top of his partly unbuttoned shirt. The jacket was probably unnecessary, given the warm night, but Cody was too vain to leave it behind. His look just wasn't complete without hair gel and his leather jacket.

He eyed the guy as openly as he had been the girl, his pale blue eyes sliding from him to the girl and then back again. Leave them be or test the waters to see if they were open to a little flirting? They didn't seem to be together, as the boy hadn't reacted to Cody's interest with jealousy. He crossed the rest of the distance to join them and smiled at the two like they were old friends.

"Out for a night of fun?" he asked. "I could use someone to hang out with tonight." His desire to speak with them was driven by two things. For one, they were both nice-looking people, and Cody wasn't opposed to having something pretty to look at tonight. Secondly, he was curious as to the exact nature of their relationship. Just friends? Or perhaps in an open relationship or FWB. There was something vaguely sexual about the way they looked at each other, if you looked for it hard enough.

DESOLATION TRAGEDY
petty lies to everyone in the hopes that I could be someone heaven talks but not to me and now I wonder if it's meant to be

He would have gotten lost if Tris had meant it, but it was clear enough even as she told him to fuck off that she wasn’t being serious. He rolled his eyes at her completely unsubtle reference to the fake ID that she had managed to get him via a warlock she had gotten in touch with. In the past, Grayson just went into places that didn’t check IDs. Some of the seedier places in the city tended not to bother, and Grayson never had an issue with that. It was nice having the ID though. It was legit given that it was done by a warlock, and it meant he didn’t have to limit himself to where he went. Granted, he didn’t particularly want to go anywhere nice. He couldn’t afford anything like that.

Grayson went with it when Tris hauled him in for a kiss that was more playful than anything else, and he smirked as she pulled back with a slightly disgruntled expression. When she called him out for the silver lip ring, his smirk widened. He then opened his mouth slightly—the tip of his tongue pressed against the back of his teeth and showing off the stud there. ”Tongue too,” he said as he closed his mouth. ”What’s wrong. Afraid of a little sting,” he teased.

His attention shifted from Tris though as the guy that had been eyeing her up earlier approached. Unaware that the other man’s gaze had shifted to him briefly during his exchange with Tris, Grayson merely watched with mild interest as he approached. His own experience with other men was rather limited—a more recent discovery that he hadn’t entirely settled into yet. It meant that he wasn’t the sort to instigate anything—unless it was a fight of course. He was always guilty of that.

”Apparently not,” Grayson said when the other man approached and asked if they were out for a night of fun. ”Someone doesn’t appreciate my metal,” he teased, a bit less on the defensive than usual thanks to the pot he had been smoking earlier. He then tugged on his lip ring with his teeth for a moment before shooting Tris a smirk. ”Maybe you’ll have better luck,” he told the newcomer just to be a shit. Just because Tris hadn’t told him to fuck off didn’t mean he couldn’t instigate, and he was always prone to doing that.

Tris grimaced when Grayson showed off the silver on his tongue. He was such as asshole sometimes. Still, she followed the grimace with a smirk.

"Have fun in a cold shower tonight, pal," she said.

Tris then turned when the werewolf who was checking her out came over. He wanted someone to hang out with. He seemed to be pretty decent. She didn't recognize him from the pack, but then again she hadn't been in the pack for very long, so she was sure that she hadn't seen a few there.

"I guess I could put up with the two of you," she said, giving Grayson a playful punch in the stomach with the back of her fist. "Somebody's going to buy me a drink though. I like'em hard and strong too... the drinks I mean."

She then made her way to the bar, and looked at the wolf.

"Name's Tris,"
she said. "This is Grayson, but he only goes by that name by day. At night, he becomes the Silver Asshat." She then turned and grinned at Grayson before looking at the bartender. "Long Island Ice Tea, and don't wuss out my drink by going heavy on the Citron. You're getting good money here."
